40 years of site selection and acquisition for hotels from budget to luxury.
Don worked as a hotel Broker in the mid to late 70’s, and Don sold Gary Tharaldson his first hotel (Super 8) in 1979. Shortly after that, he became the Director or Real Estate for Tharaldson Development from 1979 until 1999, and helped Gary develop over 200 hotels such as Comfort Suites, Hampton Inns, Holiday Inns and Marriott’s limited service brands.
Don has been instrumental in locating and negotiating hotel sites in over 200 locations and for every major hotel franchise and for some of the world’s most prolific and successful lodging developers, builders and operators in almost every region of the US.
The first and by far the most important element of any successful real estate development is LOCATION!
That is what Don’s 40 years of experience brings to bear for you and your hotel development goals. The feasibility, the size, that franchise affiliation and which way to face the building are all a part of what Don does for you once the location/market has been determines.

Since entering the Commercial Real Estate Business in 1995, Brett has concentrated his Brokerage efforts on providing consulting to various major and national retail, restaurant and hotel concepts throughout the Midwest.
In addition to Tenant Representation services, Brett has provided consulting to several regional and Local development companies through site selection and leasing of several retail developments ranging in size from 10,000 to 800,000 sf.
Lastly, Brett has demonstrated leadership qualities by managing a staff of Retail Specialists on both the Landlord and Tenant Representation side of transactions.

Engineering, Architectural, & Design Consultant
Mr. Art Harden brings to the Calibre Engineering team over thirty-five years experience in the engineering industry. His experience includes site development for residential, commercial, industrial, retail, and governmental projects. Because of his expertise, his clients and projects have carried him to numerous parts of the country and required him to interact with various jurisdictional agencies and approval processes, which included Corp of Engineers, FEMA, State EPA agencies and State DOT’s and Local Municipalities.
With five years on the developers’ side and thirty years in consulting, he has been involved in either the construction or design of over eight million square feet of retail space on more than one thousand acres. Infrastructure improvements included roadways, grading and storm drainage, parking, water/sewer services, utilities, and lighting. Involvement from both the owner’s viewpoint and engineering design process provides him with extra insight into the requirements for the completion of successful projects.

Commercial Real Agent- Coldwell Banker Commercial- Focused on retail properties. Represented regional/national restaurant & retail brands, such as Burger King, Subway, etc.
Regional Leasing Rep- Glimcher Realty Trust- (REIT)- Did leasing for 19 shopping centers in KY, TN, & Carolinas. Secured a 20-year lease with Regal Cinemas for 65,000 sq. ft. Served as part of an acquisition team in the purchase of 21 Wal-Mart anchored Shopping Centers.
Regional Site Rep- Bob Evans- Sourced development sites for regional restaurants in TN and the Carolinas. Assisted in the due diligence process.
Brokerage Vice President- Retail Services Group- Colliers International Represented big box stores- Meijer and Bargain Hunt. Including multiple transactions with Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Spenga Fitness, Jimmy Johns, Edward Jones, Expedia Travel, Wild Birds Unlimited, & others.
Served a 3-year term on a Condominium Assn. Implemented a recycling program for the community .
Served as President of a community church choir. Also served as a Deacon for 3 years and as an Elder for 3 years. Chaired the Endowment Committee, managing over $2,000,000.00 of church investments.

I bring 30 years of research experience locating assets and property ownership for special counsel attorneys appointed by the attorney general of Ohio’s collection enforcement section.
Locating the ownership and researching the history of prospective development sites is a critical element in this process.
Our Research Team generates quick and accurate information for our Development Team and our Clients.
My Wife (Laurie) & I – along with our dog (Griffin), reside in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
Graduate of Upper Arlington High School.
Attended Franklin University, Studied Communications.
